How to get email headers
Learn how to get email header for different email clients with our step-by-step guide. Retrieve useful information about unwanted emails or failed-to-send emails.
If you were directed by our support team to retrieve these headers, you should cut-and-paste them into a support ticket and send it by email or through the Client Portal.
Locate your email client and learn how to retrieve email headers for that client.
Apple Mail
- In the mailbox, highlight the message to view the headers.
- From the View menu, click Message then Raw Source.

- You will now see the headers in a new window. If necessary, using cut-and-paste, send these to our Support Team by email or sites-stg-lw-test.stellarwp.com.

Gmail
- Locate and open the email message headers you to view.
- On the right, click the drop-down list and click Show original.

- You will see the email headers in plain-text. If necessary, using cut-and-paste, send these to our support team by email or through sites-stg-lw-test.stellarwp.com.
Mozilla Thunderbird
- Open the relevant email message and, on your keyboard, press Ctrl + U.
- Right-click inside the new window containing the message headers and click Select All.

Outlook 2010+
- Locate the email message containing the headers to be retrieved and open it.
- Click File >Properties.

- You will now see header information in the Internet headers window. If necessary, using cut-and-paste, send these to our Support Team by email or through sites-stg-lw-test.stellarwp.com.
Horde
- Log in to Horde, click the relevant email message, then click Show All Headers.

- You will now see the email headers. If necessary, using cut-and-paste, send these to our Support Team by email or through sites-stg-lw-test.stellarwp.com.
RoundCube
- Log in to RoundCube and click the relevant email message.
- Click the arrow to view the email headers. If necessary, using cut-and-paste, send these to our Support Team by email or through sites-stg-lw-test.stellarwp.com.

SquirrelMail
- Log in to SquirrelMail and click the email containing the desired headers.
- In the Options: list, click View Full Header.

- You will now see the email headers. If necessary, using cut-and-paste, send these to our Support Team by email or through sites-stg-lw-test.stellarwp.com.
Windows Live Mail
- Locate the email to view the headers.
- Right-click the email and click Properties.

- In the new panel, click the Details tab.
